River Edge Public Schools Science Fair Handbook 2011
What is the Science Fair?
The Science Fair
in the River Edge School District is a non-competitive project that allows
students to explore the Scientific Process in depth. Each time the students
visit the Discovery Lab in their respective schools they are learning how to
carry out investigations using this process and now it is their turn to create,
implement and analyze their own Science Fair Project.
Who participates?
The Science Fair
is a project that the fifth grade classes will participate in. Students will
work in groups to complete an investigation and complete a display board. The
fourth grade classes will complete a project in groups or as a class. All other grade levels are
welcomed to participate in the school wide science fair, whether it is a class
project, a group project, or informational science posters.
Where is the project completed?
All work for the
projects will be done in school along with their classroom teacher, Discovery
Lab teacher and computer teacher. Display boards will be provided for all
students.
